the porn hub takedown where approximately 90% of the footage the users were lapping up could not be verified - no proof of consent for age verification from the mostly female porn 'providers' . Proof that no one, creators or users, is doing due diligence.
The porn user does not believe in consent. He, it's mostly he, is a vicarious rapist. He's watching violent rape. He's deriving his sexual entertainment from the bodies of the trafficked desperate and underaged.
And now they are all enabled by cheap easy and quick-to-use recording devices and can upload and monetise the footage just as quickly.
In one of the episodes of MadMen, set in the 50s/60s, Joanie and her surgeon husband have a dinner party. The couple they invite are a doctor and his wife. The wife tells Joanie the doctors, have a code word for when an attractive woman is submitted to the hospital in a coma.
I must admit reading the story you linked to I closely examined my memory of an internal examination when I was 16. There was a chaperone nurse there but the tone of voice of the gynecologist unnerved me. Now I know what that tone signifies
So is the attorney general a woman? Confusing pronouns. And who is the 'young woman' who's been with Giselle from the start from Victims France? I wonder what all of this horror is doing to her. I'm curious about the feminists outside on this day 'demanding an end of all violence against women', and which Women's Anthem they were singing. I'll see if I can find some footage on youtube. What strikes me in the reading out of these cases is that addiction to pornography and sex addiction is not mentioned once! I think it is very important to investigate the link between porn addiction and what this results in. Second wave feminists (like me) have pointed this out for decades and many direct actions have taken place against sex shops but now porn is readily available online which hooks men (and women) in like a seduction. Porn IS a drug! This must be discussed but I presume all of the men in this room, the accused, their lawyers and judges are all addicted to porn. It's the 'new normal' these days. But power and control over women is a recurring theme too. The title of your substack is become almost satiric. :( Thanks for posting this record of horror that we know happens in every country in the world of patriarchs.
I disagree. Alcohol addiction is mentioned in several cases and cannabis consumption and other drugs too. Pornography is just as much an addiction that can become unmanageable and normalise violent sex practices. It can also desensitize people and this makes deeper intimate and emotional relations impossible.
it sure about the attorney general but dominique pelicots lawyer is a woman. also, the young woman with gisele is her advocate. in many countries, including the US, victims of crimes are assigned a victim advocate. it’s most common with domestic violence and sexual crimes. they may help you understand the court system or help you get to court or provide emotional support.
i think with the translations, it sometimes says convicted where i wonder if it means charged? or have some of these men been convicted already?
also, how does sentencing work in the french court system? i think what i understand is that the prosecutor is recommending these sentences and the judge will deliver a verdict and a sentence? i’m wondering because it’s said dominique and gisèle have both given their final testimonies and they seem to be wrapping up with the other defendants - if the trial continues into december, what happens in the court room next?
i’ve read these posts daily since the first day of the trial
I'm confused too - the software translations are not great. I am going to sift through and make corrections where I can when I have time.
If you have Grok on X I've heard they give good answers. A French journalist from Paris contacted me in one of the comments. She was planning to go to the hearing and had a question for me as I'd already been.. Maybe she will answer some questions about the French legal procedures if you ask and if she has good English..
ohh i just assumed you were french lol but i will definitely do some research and report back if i figure it out.
have you ever seen the movie ‘anatomy of a fall’? it takes place in a court room in france and i learned a lot about what court hearings look like in that film, it’s so different than the US, which is where i’m from. it’s also about misogyny, if you haven’t seen it you’d probably like it
When I first had a substack one of my readers unsubscribed so I asked for feedback. She said she didn't find my substack useful.
Fair enough. I think I was waffling a fair bit. It evolved into a diary and an archive for me.
But I think it is useful posting up the translations and writings on the Pelicot case. I may pop over to Paris for one of the demonstrations at some point.
I was thinking of doing a page on here of LETTTERS TO MADAME PELICOT - not to send to her as she is inundated, but I think it would be interesting to read what women, or even men, would say to her in a private letter. (made public)

billions of people watch porn without becoming rapists. it’s not mentioned bc it’s irrelevant to the facts of the case
